University of Maine at Fort Kent

JMG's College Success Program begins in high school through bridging services. It continues seamlessly through college by providing proactive support to ensure students persist toward the attainment of a degree and/or credentials of value. JMG's College Success Specialists provide students with individualized services, including academic, social, and financial support. Eligible students include those who were part of a JMG program in middle school or high school and youth in foster care or who have been in foster care.

The Higher Opportunity for Pathways to Employment (HOPE) and Parents as Scholars (PaS) programs offered by the Maine Department of Health and Human Services support eligible parenting Mainers as they pursue training and education beyond high school to achieve their career plans with support from JMG Pathway Navigators.

    UMFK provides accommodations for students with documented disabilities. If you need accommodations, you must apply for them through the Disability Services and Accommodations Office located in the Student Success Center. Accommodations will vary depending on your needs as they fall under Federal law, the Rehabilitation Act of 1993, the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, and the Maine Human Rights Act established the rights of individuals with disabilities.

    UMFK and UMS scholarships (besides Bengal Academic Scholarships) require you to complete their respective applications. Once you apply, UMFK will inform you if you are awarded funds. You are responsible for completing any necessary application process for outside scholarships, and you must report these funds to the Business or Financial Aid offices.

    Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, 20 U.S.C. §§ 1681 et seq., is a federal civil rights law that prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in education programs and activities. Under Title IX, discrimination on the basis of sex can include pregnancy discrimination, sexual harassment, or sexual violence, such as rape, sexual assault, and sexual coercion. Title IX also requires that equal opportunity in athletics be provided.
