JMG has received its largest private investment in the organization’s history, a $10.4 million grant from the Harold Alfond Foundation. The grant will allow JMG to establish its College Success Program on all of the public college campuses in Maine.

We are proud to share that with bipartisan support, Maine lawmakers honored JMG President and CEO Craig Larrabee with a legislative sentiment for his three decades of leadership in education as JMG marks 30 years of supporting Maine students.

As a youth in Maine’s foster care system, Alexander Buzzell said the odds were against him. Now 25, he is a college graduate, married, and a construction superintendent in the renewable energy industry.

At 15, Tiffani Melia entered the Maine foster care system. She felt like she was going nowhere, but Opportunity Passport® and JMG supported Tiffani to become a college graduate who believes she is “going somewhere.”

As a child in Maine’s foster care system, Mariah Knight felt the only way she could survive was to make herself invisible and need nothing. Today, Mariah works to empower Maine youth in foster care and remind them that needing help does not make them a burden.

Young Mainers currently or formerly in foster care have achieved the incredible milestone of saving and gaining matched funding totaling more than $2 million through the Opportunity Passport® program.
